Roma Fey
It was never a good sign when the wheels of the gypsy wagon rutted the spring lane.
My Mother would warn us yet again about their encampment, but would not oust them from our land. Times were hard, the winter had been harsh and they made do by foraging mushrooms and fiddleheads and small game from the woods.
Being curious and a bit defiant, I ventured my 7 year old self into the forest, following their tracks.
It was Roma I saw first, but only barely, because the color of her dress hid her nicely.
She greeted me in an accent that I found so very foreign and yet Intriguing.
She took my hand. Looked down once and dropped it quickly.
"Sighted," was all she said before she vanished.
Roma is made in the very labor intensive and rather tedious fashion of the Baggaraggs.
She is rather lovely in person.
I don't have very good light for my photos.
She's about 9 inches tall if you measure her legs extended.
